Expanding Fioptics+ TV Service to Neighbor Islands
Hawaiian Telcom has expanded TV service to neighbor islands, a move that will benefit thousands of local consumers. The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) has approved to offer Fioptics+ TV service in the counties of Kaua'i, Maui, and Hawai'i.
The DCCA's approval is a major milestone, giving neighbor island residents a choice of TV service provider for the first time in more than three decades. Fioptics+ TV service, which will be available to fiber-enabled households in the counties of Kaua'i, Maui, and Hawai'i beginning August 5, 2024, is possible thanks to Hawaiian Telcom's multi-million dollar, statewide investment in fiber infrastructure.
"The DCCA's approval opens new doors for more Hawai'i residents, giving them a choice of TV providers for the first time," said Hawaiian Telcom President Su Shin. "Our fiber expansion helps to improve digital equity in Hawai'i and level the playing field for neighbor island residents. Fioptics+ TV is the fruition of a lot of hard work by the Hawaiian Telcom team and we're proud to be able to offer a choice to our neighbor island families."
Consumers can save money by bundling Fioptics+ TV with Hawaiian Telcom's 100% fiber internet service, which offers the fastest upload speed in the state. For information, please visit hawaiiantel.com/fiopticsplus or call Hawaiian Telcom at 808.643.3456.
