Taking Steps Toward a Greener Future
Happy Earth Month! At Hawaiian Telcom, we're committed to doing our part to protect the planet and our Islands. Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% in seven years.
By using energy-efficient fiber-optic cables and reducing power used by our legacy copper network, we're taking steps toward a greener future. Not only is fiber better for the environment, it also carries 10,000 times more bandwidth and is more durable. We've invested $160 million in private capital to expand our fiber infrastructure, and now 268,000 homes and businesses in Hawaii have access to Fioptics with ultra-fast symmetrical speeds.
