Hurricane Preparedness in Hawai`i

The outlook for the 2022 Central Pacific hurricane season anticipates two to four tropical cyclones, which includes hurricanes. However, weather forecasters are reminding Hawai`i residents that it only takes one to cause a “tremendous amount” of impact.

Hawaiian Telcom plays a critical role in keeping Hawai‘i connected so our employees need to be prepared both at work and at home in case we’re called to help during an emergency. Each year, we encourage our customers to review their business continuity plans as well as personal preparedness plans and take precautions early.

Make sure that you make an emergency plan, know your evacuation zone, review important documents, and have a disaster preparedness kit that includes food and water.

Please visit ready.gov/hurricanes for more information on steps you can take to stay safe this hurricane season.
