Volunteer Spotlight: Giving Back This Holiday Season
Helping our Keiki in Need
This season is all about community and giving back. We’re beyond grateful to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii - Nanakuli Clubhouse to fulfill wish list items for keiki in need, spreading holiday cheer and making a difference.
You can help change everything for a child in our community that needs a little extra help right now. Sometimes all it takes is one act of generosity to change a child’s entire future.
- One membership card to dream beyond the end of their street.
- One mentor saying, “I believe in you.”
- One meal to keep from going hungry tonight.

Holiday Heroes for HUGS
Hawaiian Telcom volunteers helped play Santa’s Elves at the HUGS house. HUGS (Helping, Understanding, and Group Support) is a non-profit organization that helps support families with seriously ill children. Every year HUGS hosts a Christmas event where they pass out gifts to all children of the HUGS families, including the siblings of the children they serve. Volunteers sorted through donated toys to match gifts for the children based on their wish-lists.
Consider giving a donation this holiday season by making a year-end gift to HUGS Hawai'i.
Holiday cards for Kupuna
CBYP, Hawaiian Telcom's Connecting & Building Young Professionals group, held a holiday card-making event for the Letters2OurKūpuna program to create holiday cards with heartfelt messages to keep our kūpuna connected this holiday season.
Cards were distributed to Lanakila Meals on Wheels (Honolulu), Aloha Nursing and Rehab (Kāneʻohe), 'Ilima at Leihano (Kapolei), Hale Makua (Maui), and KupunaCareHawaii (Honolulu).
