Hawaiian Telcom Donates $3 Million to Support Maui
Hawaiian Telcom is donating $3 million to Hawai‘i Community Foundation, including its Maui Strong Fund, to support the families, businesses, and organizations impacted by the devastating Maui wildfires.
“Hawaiian Telcom is fully committed to supporting the Maui community through every phase of recovery, today and into the future,” said Su Shin, Hawaiian Telcom President and General Manager. “We are making this donation guided by our core values to do the right thing. It’s our responsibility and our privilege to support our Maui ‘ohana.”
Hawaiian Telcom has 1,200 employees in Hawai‘i, including approximately 60 employees who live on Maui. The company has teams of employees working and volunteering on Maui to help the community’s recovery efforts.
The funds come from the Bell Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hawaiian Telcom’s parent company, altafiber.
