As summer winds down and the back-to-school season approaches, many families—and college students—are making moves into new homes, apartments, or dorms. Whether you're relocating into a new family home or heading off to campus for the first time, late summer is one of the busiest times to move.

Between packing boxes and prepping for that first day, don’t forget to plan ahead for your Internet, TV, and phone services. Getting connected before school starts is crucial for everything from online homework and Zoom lectures to streaming your favorite shows after a long day.

One of the most important parts of moving is getting your Internet, TV, or phone services transferred or set up in your new home. Since the end of summer is a popular time for moving, it’s also a busy time for installs. If you are a new customer, start looking into the available services for your new residence prior to moving in. That way, you have time to research, decide what you want, order your services, and schedule an installation date to coincide with your move-in date.

Attending college and living off-campus? We make it easy to get connected in your new apartment or student housing. Check availability at your address, pick your plan, and schedule an install date that lines up with move-in weekend.

To ensure you are able to have your Internet/TV/phone set up on the day you move into your home, you should schedule your install as soon as you sign a new lease or purchase a home. You will want to schedule your install at least 2 weeks before your move in date.

If you are an existing Hawaiian Telcom customer, you can simply move your equipment from your old home to your new one.  However, you will still need a tech to visit your house to set up your service in your new home, so we recommend you schedule your install as early as possible.

If you’re starting a new chapter of life, rest easy knowing your neighbors at Hawaiian Telcom are here for you.

Once you know your moving date, give us a call at 808-643-3456, visit a Hawaiian Telcom store, or chat with a live agent at hawaiiantel.com and schedule a time to move and install your services at your new residence. After a long day of unpacking—whether you’re setting up a family home or your first college apartment—there’s nothing better than logging in, tuning out, and relaxing.

The previous homeowner or tenants must cancel their service before new service can be ordered. For this reason, we suggest calling, chatting or requesting a call back to avoid any hiccups. If you'd like to see what services and offers are available at your address, click here.
